Marinate\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">ahead for a super-speedy supper.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/beef-teriyaki.pdf\">Beef Teriyaki with Spring Onions Printer Friendly Download<\/a><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">8 tablespoons soy sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">4 tablespoons mirin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">4 tablespoons caster sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">1 tablespoon honey<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">1 tablespoon sesame oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">2 teaspoons finely grated ginger<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">1 garlic clove, thinly sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">800 g piece sirloin steak<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil or Irish<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">rapeseed oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">bunch of spring onions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">sushi rice<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Serves 4<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2>To Cook<\/h2>\n<div>Place the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, honey, sesame oil, ginger and garlic in a saucepan over\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">medium-high heat. Bring to the boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 5\u201310 minutes. Remove\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Pour the soy sauce mixture into a large, shallow dish and add the steak, turning a few times\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Drain the beef, reserving the marinade. Heat the rapeseed oil in a large frying pan over\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 3 minutes each side (for medium rare) or according\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">to how you like it. Transfer the steak to a plate, cover loosely with foil and leave to rest for 5\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">minutes. Cook the spring onions in the frying pan and set to one side.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Add the reserved marinade to the pan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to low and\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">simmer, uncovered, for 2\u20133 minutes or until reduced slightly.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Thinly slice the steak.
