When barbecuing meat, brush it with oil before placing it on the hotplate, rather than pouring the oil on to the barbecue where it can cause flames and burning. Also soak the wooden skewers in water while the meat is marinating to prevent them burning when cooking.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Satay-Beef.pdf\">Satay Beef &#8211; Printer Friendly Download<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\u20442 tablespoons soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons cornflour<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon fresh ginger,\u00a0peeled and grated<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon water<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/proddetail.php?prod=6116\">700 g\/1 1\u20442 lb rump steak, cut\u00a0into 4 cm\/1 1\u20442 inch cubes<\/a><\/li>\n<li>4 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>satay skewers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Satay Sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>30 g\/1 oz butter<\/li>\n<li>1 medium onion, peeled\u00a0and finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves of garlic, peeled\u00a0and crushed<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a01\u20442 teaspoons mild curry\u00a0powder<\/li>\n<li>3\u20444 cup roasted unsalted\u00a0peanuts, blended or\u00a0processed finely<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 red chilli, seeds discarded\u00a0and finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 1\u20442 cups water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>To Cook<\/h2>\n<p>Combine the soy sauce, cornflour, sugar, ginger and water in a bowl. Add the meat and mix well. Let the meat marinate for at least 1 hour. Thread the meat on to the skewers and brush it with the oil. Barbecue until browned all over.<\/p>\n<p>To make the sauce, melt the butter in a pan, add the onion and garlic and cook for a few minutes until aromas develop. Add the curry powder and the peanuts. Stir for 1 minute and then add the soy sauce, chilli and water.
