{"id":1309,"date":"2010-12-02T17:37:14","date_gmt":"2010-12-02T16:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/info\/?p=1309"},"modified":"2014-08-07T15:23:01","modified_gmt":"2014-08-07T14:23:01","slug":"burgers-with-melted-cheese-and-tomato-salsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/info\/1309\/burgers-with-melted-cheese-and-tomato-salsa\/","title":{"rendered":"James Whelan Butchers: Burgers with Melted Cheese and Tomato Salsa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1311\" title=\"Burger with Melted Cheese and Tomato Salsa\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/burger-with-melted-cheese.jpg\" alt=\"Burger with Melted Cheese and Tomato Salsa\" width=\"225\" height=\"169\" \/>The secret to great burgers is to use top quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/proddetail.php?prod=6104\">Round Steak Mince<\/a> , the onions saut\u00e9ed till golden brown and cooked ahead of time and a good splash of chilli oil in the mixture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Burgers-with-Melted-Cheese-and-Tomato-Salsa.pdf\"><strong>Burgers with Melted Cheese and Tomato Salsa &#8211; Printer Friendly Download<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>450g <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jameswhelanbutchers.com\/proddetail.php?prod=6104\">Round Steak Mince<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 large onion, finely chopped, saut\u00e9ed in oil till golden and cooled<\/li>\n<li>1 tablesp. scallions, chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 tablesp. chilli oil, optional but nice (see recipe)<\/li>\n<li>Salt and black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Serves 4<\/p>\n<h2>Tomato Salsa<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>16 approx. cherry tomatoes, chopped<\/li>\n<li>1-2 red onions, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>Handful chopped coriander<\/li>\n<li>1 tablesp. chilli oil<\/li>\n<li>Lemon juice to taste<\/li>\n<li>Salt and black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>To Cook<\/h2>\n<p>Mix the mince, onion, scallions, chilli oil and seasoning well together.\u00a0 With wet hands shape into 4 burgers.\u00a0 Flatten each one down with the palm of your hand until you have a nice even shape.\u00a0 This way they will cook more quickly and evenly.\u00a0 Keep in the fridge until ready to cook.\u00a0 Grill, barbecue or cook on a black ridge pan, until fully cooked, 4-5 minutes on each side.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile mix all the salsa ingredients together.
