From its first meeting in 2009 at the Cashel Palace Hotel, the Network has focused on shared learning, collaboration and celebrating Tipperary as a place of nourishment, integrity and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>From the outset, the ambition was clear, strengthen local, circular food systems, support rural economies and grow people through education and collaboration. The Network became a living example of Irish Meitheal, where neighbours support neighbours, knowledge is freely shared and successes are celebrated collectively.<\/p>\n<h4>Celebrating Place Through the Long Table Dinners<\/h4>\n<p>The Network\u2019s milestones reflect this spirit. The Long Table Dinner series, 2009\u20132015, brought producers, chefs and communities together in extraordinary venues across Tipperary, from Clonmel Army Barracks to Brocka on the Water, Chez Hans and Rockwell College. In selecting these venues, the Network also highlighted Tipperary\u2019s places of heritage, historic sites, architectural gems and locations deeply rooted in the county\u2019s story, creating shared experiences that celebrated not only the land and its produce but also its history and culture.<\/p>\n<h4>Taking Tipperary to the World Stage<\/h4>\n<p>The Network\u2019s international journey began in 2013 at the Embassy of Ireland, Brussels, where Tipperary producers showcased the county\u2019s exceptional food on a European stage. This international expansion continued in 2016 with the Tipperary Breakfast at the Embassy of Ireland, London, further promoting Tipperary\u2019s artisans and their craft to a global audience. That same year, the Network hosted the Irish judging of the prestigious Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards, highlighting local excellence and innovation to both national and international communities.<\/p>\n<h4>Education, Partnerships and Inspiring the Next Generation<\/h4>\n<p>In 2017, the Network partnered with renowned chef Kevin Thornton to develop the Kevin Thornton Tipperary Breakfast and published The Tipperary Food Tour Children\u2019s Book, inspiring young readers to learn about local food, producers and the value of provenance. By 2019, Tipperary Food Experiences and the Tipperary Breakfast Champions initiative further connected producers with hospitality partners and visitors, creating immersive, educational journeys into the county\u2019s food culture. Network members have also featured on television, sharing their stories and passion with audiences far beyond the county.<\/p>\n<h4>A Royal Recognition in Cahir<\/h4>\n<p>A particularly proud highlight came in 2022 when Charles III and Camilla visited Cahir. The Network had the honour of welcoming them as HRH Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, recognising not just individual producers but a community united in purpose, sustainability and quality.<\/p>\n<h4>Returning to Cashel \u2013 A Table that Stretched to the Gates<\/h4>\n<p>The Network continued to celebrate its heritage and community in 2025 with another landmark Long Table Dinner hosted at the Cashel Palace Hotel. This extraordinary table stretched from the hotel\u2019s front door all the way to the front gate, symbolising the openness, connection and generosity at the heart of Tipperary\u2019s food community. It was a vivid reminder that the Network thrives when people come together to share, learn and celebrate, while also honouring the county\u2019s heritage through the choice of venue.<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward, in 2026 the Network is embarking on the development of its own Sustainability Charter for the area, a formal commitment to environmental stewardship, ethical sourcing and community focused practices.
